Your Task: Create 3 Rules

These are guardrails you create together to give your conversations the best chance of success. Think of them like bumper pads at the bowling alley—they don’t guarantee a strike, but they do keep your conversations out of the gutter. 

When creating your Rules of Engagement, remember: the point isn’t to police each other—it’s to protect the conversation.

Bonus: Add Some Play

Make it fun. Come up with light, flirty consequences for breaking your agreements. 

  • Forgot to give a heads-up? You owe a foot rub.

  • Interrupted mid-sentence? You’re on dish-duty.

  • Raised your voice? Restart in a whisper - or owe a 20-second hug before continuing.

Keep the consequences light and connection-focused. What feels playful and bonding for you as a couple is the right choice.
